Harbin Confucius Temple

Harbin Confucian Temple originally covered an area of ​​60,000 square meters, and now covers an area of ​​23,000 square meters, with a construction area of ​​5,674 square meters. It is known as the "Forbidden City" of Harbin.


In 1996, Harbin Confucian Temple was approved by the State Council as the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. The National Development and Reform Commission and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage jointly announced the list of 100 key repaired ancient buildings in the country during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, and Harbin Confucian Temple was among them.


Starting from December 12, 2022, Harbin Confucian Temple will resume opening to the public.

Harbin Confucian Temple is a typical three-courtyard imitation Qing Dynasty ancient building complex. It has three courtyards, with Dacheng Hall as the center, forming a central axis from north to south, from the screen wall at the south end to the north, through Panchi, Panqiao, Lingxing Gate, Dacheng Gate, to the second courtyard Dacheng Hall, and finally ending at the Chongsheng Temple in the third courtyard. The archways, stone tablets, side halls, and side gates located on both sides of the central axis are symmetrically arranged.


The three courtyards of Harbin Confucian Temple are progressive and connected in one breath under the penetration of the central axis. The main building of the Confucian Temple uses yellow glazed tiles from the Qing Dynasty, namely "Huangding", which is the architectural specification used by emperors or people approved by the emperor. The roof style also uses the highest-level "Wudianding" and "Double-eaved Wudianding". The side halls on both sides use "gray pottery tiles" and "green glazed tiles", the roof is "hip roof", "rolled shed hanging mountain style", and the color painting is "Xuanzi color painting", "Ya Wu Mo", "Su style color painting" and so on.
